As many of you are aware, I have been a vegan since 2005. And many of you know my story to veganism. My mom was diagnosed with Plasma Cell Leukemia in 2004 and life came to a “halt” with facing my mom’s mortality and my helplessness to save her. I had no answers but pain, denial, anger and disbelief that nothing can be done. I started learning foods and eliminating animal foods upon gaining knowledge. Becoming a vegan, wasn’t a “part of political and cultural movement”, no, I didn’t join a “vegan cult” or wanted to become a hippy.
It was and still is my journey to discover health and most important cellular health.
I am very happy being a vegan and I always say and said that if for health/medical reasons, I need to add animal food, indeed, I will. It’s all about health to me.
I just received the results for my food sensitivity test to discover that I am highly sensitive to not only some of my favorite foods like tofu, soya sauce, almonds, hazelnuts, but most important to foods that are essential to metabolism, like brazil nuts, flax seeds and spirulina. As a vegan, one has to be very careful not to fall in the trap of nutrients deficiency. Please watch my story of learning personal nutrition and adjustments I have to make to stay on top of the “food pyramid” and indeed my health.
To health and indeed, to yummy foods.
My love to you.
