Dear Friends! I am reading a book: Hostage by Eli Sharabi, and it has me thinking about my life—and how grateful I am for the everyday, often-taken-for-granted goodness in it. How lucky I am to wake up each morning in a warm bed, surrounded by my loving husband and my beloved animals. How fortunate I am to enjoy the breakfast of my choice and go to work to do what I love: being a doctor, learning about diseases, and teaching health.
I am so lucky to have an abundance of food for lunch and dinner—and even luckier to live in a country I love, surrounded by people I love. I’m grateful to be able to love and be loved, to hug my animals, and to walk peacefully in the woods.
I know it’s easy to take my everyday routine for granted, sometimes even complaining about difficulties and challenges. But I will not allow myself to lose sight of gratitude—for the luxury of living a free life, always surrounded by kindness and love.
